The new owners wanted an unobstructed view of the mountain landscape – in tandem with a new master bedroom and dressing room in the attic. The transformation was a success.

The elongated stone slab roof was torn open as part of the extension and a transverse construction was added, which houses two new bedrooms with mountain views. The incorporation of the existing corner window into the new façade design also required a fundamental change in the windows in the existing kitchen and their integration into the new main façade above the driveway.

The extension sits on the existing base with granite stones and makes a powerful impression with its exterior, also made of stone. The windows on the top floor are a specialty, as they are completely integrated into the interior design of the two new bedrooms and are also made of walnut wood.

The new rooms were detailed with high-quality materials and complemented by a playful and high-quality lighting concept. Later in the project we were also able to redesign the staircase and to furnish the remaining rooms. A unique detail can be seen on the banister, which, with its free form and elegant materialization, offers a charming resolution to the almost enigmatic geometry of the old building.

«The precise reasoning and the willingness to make decisions shown by the client was an inspiration for us, and through wonderful collaboration we created an unexpectedly exciting and successful project.»

returning to the garden and home

Now the large plot of land also needed to be rethought in the area of the garden, and implemented according to the design of the interior. The result is a new seating area in the farthest corner of the garden with cosy lighting, meaning the vacation home in Flims is no longer only suited to cold winter days on the ski slopes, but also balmy summer evenings.

The collaboration was fun and the quality of the design was appreciated, which is why we can now continue the partnership in new spaces.

Creating new space. The transverse structure is built on the existing stone foundation and opens up an unobstructed view of the mountain from the interior.

Fully integrated. The new master suite continues the modern architectural language with high-quality interior fittings, tailor-made furniture, and excellent lighting.

There’s nothing that can’t be made to fit. The dining room with the corner window to the generously-sized garden was adapted by the team to meet the needs of the client.

Striking at first glance. Seductively artistic wallpapers and fine textiles create a unique atmosphere.
